As such, real estate has become a focus for many investors and industry professionals alike. Before diving into the market, it is important to understand the current trends and latest news to properly identify which investments are the most promising. Overall, the current real estate market appears to be stabilizing due to a stronger economy and higher consumer confidence levels. Jobs are increasing, which helps with consumer confidence and job security. Mortgage interest rates have also been trending downward, motivating more people to enter the market. In addition, the housing market is displaying great signs of expansion. Home prices across the United States have been steadily increasing since 2018, making it an attractive option for homebuyers. This is likely attributed to the greater number of buyers entering the market, drawn by the increasing consumer confidence and low-interest rate environment. The commercial market has also experienced a great deal of activity in recent years. Growth in leasing and vacancy rates in the office, industrial and retail industries have all seen improvements since the start of 2020. The overall rental rates for commercial properties have been fairly consistent over the last few years, but they are seeing a slow but steady uptick in the second half of 2020. Overall, the real estate market is showing strong signs of recovery and expansion. Consumers and investors both have the confidence to purchase or invest, and the conditions appear favorable for such investments. It is important to research the local market and speak to a real estate professional for more information. ## More Articles to Consider Reading [Real Estate in Outer East Portland Oregon](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/real-estate-in-outer-east-portland-oregon) [Real Estate and COVID 19 in Portland Oregon](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/real-estate-and-covid-19-in-portland-oregon) [Real Estate in North Portland Oregon](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/real-estate-in-north-portland-oregon) [Vacancy Rate: Impact on Real Estate](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/vacancy-rate-impact-on-real-estate) [Trulia Reviews: A Platform Overview](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/trulia-reviews-a-platform-overview) [Navigating Foreclosures with a VA Loan: What You Need to Know](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/navigating-foreclosures-with-a-va-loan-what-you-need-to-know) Share: [facebook-f icon](http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/real-estate-market-overview) [linkedin-in icon](http://www.linkedin.com/shareArticle?mini=true&url=https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/real-estate-market-overview) [twitter icon](https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?url=https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/real-estate-market-overview) [pinterest-p icon](http://pinterest.com/pin/create/link/?url=https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/real-estate-market-overview) [envelope icon](mailto:?body=https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/real-estate-market-overview) [![PDX Direct Realty](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Color%20logo%20-%20no%20background.png?width=100&height=98&name=Color%20logo%20-%20no%20background.png "PDX Direct Realty")](http://PDX%20Direct%20Realty) [List@PDXDirectRealty.com](mailto:List@PDXDirectRealty.com) (503) 847-2199 M-F 8am-5pm PST 3225 SW 87th Ave. #25653 Portland, OR 97225 Our Services - [Property Listing Services](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/listing-services) - [Home Buyer Services](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/buyer-services) - [Business Listing Services](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/contact-us) - [Additional Services](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/additional-services) Company Information - [About Us](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/about-us) - [Contact Us](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/contact-us) - [Terms of Service](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/terms-of-service) - [Privacy Policy](https://legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy) - [Real Estate Articles](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles) **Customer Portal** - [Submit Listing Data](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/submission-options) - [Submit Photos](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/photo-submission) - [Submit Changes](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/submit-changes-form) - [Submit Documents](https://pdxdirectrealty.com/document-submission-form) Copyright © 2026, PDX Direct Realty - All Rights Reserved - Licensed in the State of Oregon ```json { "@context" : "https://schema.org", "@type" : "BlogPosting", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : "PDX Direct", "url" : "https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/author/pdx-direct" }, "dateModified" : "2023-12-22T19:46:17.113Z", "datePublished" : "2023-07-03T07:00:00.000Z", "headline" : "Real Estate Market Overview: Get the Latest Updates on the Housing Market", "image" : [ "https://pdxdirectrealty.com/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/image_179-3.png" ], "mainEntityOfPage" : { "@id" : "https://pdxdirectrealty.com/articles/real-estate-market-overview", "@type" : "WebPage" }, "publisher" : { "@type" : "Organization", "logo" : { "@type" : "ImageObject", "url" : "https://pdxdirectrealty.com/hubfs/Color%20logo%20-%20no%20background.png" }, "name" : "PDX Direct Realty" } } ``` ```json { "@context" : "http://schema.org", "@type" : "Article", "author" : { "@type" : "Person", "name" : [ "PDX Direct" ] }, "datePublished" : "2023-07-03T07:00:00+0000", "description" : "This article examines the current state of the real estate market, exploring current trends affecting home buyers and sellers.
